2- Cold Phacoemulsification (Sovereign White Star) -
It is
the most advanced phacoemulsification system available to date. It has seven microprocessor
(conventional machine has only one) to control different parameters of phaco
power, vacuum, surge etc. It is a technology in which eye is virtually
connected to a computer for the best possible monitoring during the
operation. It has Power Matrix Phaco@, Intelesis Sensor@,
Prosync Response@ and White Star@. Software's all included in one machine, which is
not available in any other Phaco-system. This is the only system which
incorporates the best of Phaco and Laser system in one system.
All this technological breakthrough
means a great deal of enhanced safety for the patient. Minimal Phaco power
is used, no heat is generated and surge is virtually eliminated even at a
higher vaccum. This results in significantly less complications during
surgery and much less tissue damage, as compared to other Phaco Machines.
Another major advantage of this
system is that there is no internal tubing which is being recognized as a
potential source of infection. Thus while other machine may cause infection
in some eyes, there is no possibility of this happening in this system.
Apart from these obvious advantages,
this system is the safest for corneal tissue. Chances of cornea getting decompensated are much less as compared to conventional Phaco and this
advantage may become evident years after the
surgery.
